Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stars Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi test NEGATIVE for COVID-19 August 26, 2020 at 11:10AM

The shoots for television and films have resumed after there were a few leniencies provided in the lockdown rules. However, a lot of television shows have come across the cast and crew testing positive for COVID-19. Despite the extra precautionary measures used during the shoots, they can only prevent the infection to a certain extent. A couple of days ago, the news of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stars, Sachin Tyagi, Swati Chitnis, and Samir Onkar testing positive for COVID-19 had surfaced.

Even though the stars have been asked to home quarantine, as a precautionary measure, everyone else on the set underwent the test. The lead actors, Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi had also taken the test and the reports have come negative, thankfully. Despite the negative reports, the duo will be quarantining at home to avoid any possibility of being infected. According to a statement by the show’s producer Rajan Shahi, the sets have been sanitized and fumigated by the BMC as soon as the news broke out.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
