Rhea Chakraborty interrogated by the CBI for nearly 10 hours; ED examines bank locker  August 29, 2020 at 10:30AM

On Friday, the CBI who is currently investigating the death of the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput interrogated Rhea Chakraborty for the first time. The actress was questioned for nearly 10 hours along with her brother Showik to get a clear picture of their personal equation and their business ventures with the late actor.

Rhea was seen leaving the DRDO guest house post the interrogation at around 9.30 pm on Friday. The CBI started their investigation on August 20 after an order from the Supreme Court. Ever since their arrival, the team has been trying to piece together the events that occured on the day of the actor's death. Sushant's staff and close friends have been questioned by the CBI. Reportedly, the actress has been summoned by the CBI for another round of investigation as well. 

In her interviews to the media, Rhea has claimed that she had left Sushant Singh Rajput's house on June 8 after getting into a fight with him and was not around him on the day of his death. Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai on June 14. 

Meanwhile, the ED who is looking into the money laundering case linked to the late actor, examined Rhea's bank locker on Thursday. The bank locker was examined in the presence of Rhea's father and they reportedly found jewellery worth several lakhs.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
