Mumbai Police Officer arrives at Rhea Chakraborty's residence after she seeks help  August 27, 2020 at 03:53PM

Rhea Chakraborty is in the center of the Sushant Singh Rajput case. An FIR was filed against the actress by the late actor's family who accused her of abetment to suicide. Along with Rhea her family is also being questioned by the investigating authorities. Earlier today, the actress shared a video of her father getting mobbed by reporters outside their residence. Sharing the video, she sought help from Mumbai Police.

Soon after the post was shared on social media, an officer from the Mumbai Police team reportedly arrived at the actor' residence. As per reports, the officer came from the nearest Santacruz police station after the Chakraborty family complained about the media outside their residence. 

Sharing the video of her father, Rhea wrote, “This is inside my building compound, The man in this video is my father Indrajit Chakraborty (retd . army officer). We have been trying to get out of our house to cooperate with ED, CBI and various investigation authorities to cooperate. There is a threat to my life and my family’s life. We have informed the local police station and even gone there, no help provided. We have informed the investigation authorities to help us get to them, no help arrived. How is this family going to live? We are only asking for assistance, to cooperate with the various agencies that have asked us. I request @mumbaipolice to please provide protection so that we can cooperate with these investigation agencies. #safetyformyfamily. In covid times, these basic law and order restrictions need to be provided.  Thankyou”. Rhea also shared a video of her building watchman who claimed that he was hit by the reporters and was relentlessly questioned about the actress.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
