Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer clarifies claims of offering free legal service August 28, 2020 at 01:44PM

At present, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor who passed away on June 14 was found hanging in his apartment. Actress Rhea Chakraborty is currently the prime accused in the case and is being investigated. Meanwhile, there have been reports doing the rounds that the actress's lawyer Satish Maneshinde is fighting her case without any charge.

Smita Parikh, who is a family friend of Sushant Singh Rajput during an interview on TV, alleged that Rhea informed her that the lawyer is offering his services for free. Smita also alleged that if not Rhea then someone must be paying the lawyer's fee.

Now, in an official statement, Satish clarified the matter and said, “What Rhea said in her interview was only that I didn't raise bills in her case and whatever people are saying that I approached her for this case and offered my services for free is not true. Fees is a matter between me and my client.”

Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty reached the DRDO guest house earlier today to be interrogated by the CBI. Her brother Showik who is also named in the FIR was interrogated on Thursday.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
