John Abraham to shoot Satyameva Jayate 2 in Lucknow in September August 26, 2020 at 11:42AM

Actor John Abraham is getting back to work. After completing the cameo part in untitled next starring Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh, he will begin shooting for Satyameva Jayate 2 in Lucknow in September. The Milap Zaveri directorial was supposed to go on the floor on April 10, 2020. Amid nationwide lockdown due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the shoots were halted in the country.

The story has moved from Mumbai to Lucknow with Bigg Boss fame Santosh Shukla posing as the villain in the film. Milap Zaveri has been doing the recee for the schedule and working out locations. Milap spoke to a daily and said that he is happy to be with the technical members of the team whilst scouting locations in UP. They are taking the necessary precautions.

During the lockdown, the filmmaker reworked on the script which is why the story moved from Mumbai to Lucknow. The film marks the return of Divya Khosla Kumar on big the screen after 16 years.

Satyameva Jayate 2 was earlier set for October 2, 2020 release.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
