Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Siddharth Pithani tells CBI that 8 hard drives were destroyed on the day Rhea Chakraborty left August 27, 2020 at 09:49AM

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely death is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau Of Investigation. His creative content manager and flatmate Siddharth Pithani has told CBI that 8 hard drives were reportedly destroyed on June 8 before the late actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty left his home.

As per reports, Sushant and Rhea had a fight after which she moved out of his house after staying with him during the lockdown. Siddharth Pithani reportedly told CBI that he didn't know the contents of the hard drives but an IT person came to the house to conduct the process with both Rhea and Sushant present. Apparently, Sushant's cook Neeraj Singh and house help Dinesh Sawant were witnesses of this.

Rhea Chakraborty is currently under scanner after a case was filed against her by Sushant's father KK Singh. Enforcement Directorate (ED), CBI, and Narcotics Control Bureau are also investigating various angles.

The Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI), on August 6, registered an FIR against six people including Rhea Chakraborty, Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty, father Indrajit Chakraborty, mother Sandhya Chakraborty, house manager Samuel Miranda, and Shruti Modi. The charges leveled against the six of them are abetment to suicide, criminal conspiracy, theft, cheating, intimidation, wrongful restraint, or confinement, among others.

Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors.
