Sushant Singh Rajput’s lookalike Sachin Tiwari gets legal notice for sharing the story idea of the film Shashank with other producers August 26, 2020 at 05:25PM

A few weeks ago it was announced that a film titled Suicide or Murder reportedly based on the life of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput will be released. The makers cast actor Sachin Tiwari who bears resemblance to Sushant Singh Rajput. However, even before the release of the film, Sachin has landed in legal trouble.

The actor has been served with a legal notice by producer Marut Singh and director Sanoj Mishra on the grounds that they had signed the actor for a film titled Shashank, which is based on the late actor Sushant and nepotism in Bollywood. The director and producer have alleged that the actor shared the story idea with another producer.

The legal notice was sent to Tiwari a month ago and he has not responded yet. Marut Singh said that the actor is not responding to their calls as well. The producer claimed that it was only recently he came to know that the actor shared the crux of the film with other producers and directors.

Sachin Tiwari is working on the film Suicide or Murder directed by Vijay Shekhar Gupta. Reportedly, the film focuses on outsiders being victimised by the Bollywood mafia and its culture of nepotism. Meanwhile, Shashank revolves around the struggle of an actor who comes from a small town. Mishra said that the film will feature the dark side of Bollywood.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
