Aditya Chopra to unveil YRF Museum as a part of the 50th year celebrations August 28, 2020 at 12:49PM

If everything goes according to the grand plans being firmed up by Aditya Chopra, the head honcho of Yash Raj Films, Mumbai will soon have a YRF Museum. This idea is a part of the 50th year celebrations of YRF which is set to kickstart on the 88th birth anniversary of legendary film-maker Yash Chopra.

“Adi is currently working on the blue print of YRF Project 50 and there is definitely a huge plan to unveil the YRF Museum. General public will have access to come in and soak in the legacy of YRF in this museum. If one has been to the massive studios in US like the Fox Lot in Los Angeles, one could visit the museum that houses all the history, costumes, rare posters and pictures and videos are displayed in a grand fashion. YRF Museum is being planned with that grand a design,” informs a trade source.

“Given the rich history of YRF, the iconic films that the studio has given Indian audiences and how it’s films have shaped pop-culture of India, one can imagine that YRF Museum will truly relive the most defining moments in Hindi film history. There is so much never seen before history and nostalgia that fans of Indian cinema will be treated to when this museum gets constructed,” the trade source adds.

The informer, however, stresses that it will take some time before work on the museum begins. “The announcement is most definitely going to happen as a part of the 50th year celebrations because it has been Adi’s dream to build a YRF Museum. But it will take some time to make the museum. So, it can end up taking a couple of years too. But isn’t it exciting that audiences and fans of Hindi cinema can finally see the history of Yash Raj Films, relive the movies they have produced and witness the journey of all the superstars that they have given India generation after generation,” the source further elaborates.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
