Law School star Kim Bum in talks to join Rain starrer Korean drama Ghost Doctor June 24, 2021 at 07:34PM

Following the success of Korean drama Law School, actor Kim Bum has been offered a role in the upcoming fantasy drama, Ghost Doctor starring popular Korean musician and actor Rain and singer-actress Uee, real name Kim Yu Jin.

According to Korean news outlet OSEN, Rain has been offered the lead role of genius doctor Cha Young Min, whereas Uee is the leading lady but her role is kept under wraps. Actor Kim Bum has been in talks for the role Go Seung Tak. The news was confirmed by the actor's agency King Kong by Starship that he is in talks for the show and that outlook is favourable.

According to Soompi, Ghost Doctor is a fantasy medical drama "about two doctors who could not be more different in terms of their backgrounds, skills, or personalities, but who end up combining bodies and spirits. The drama will tell the emotional stories of ghost doctors who, even after their deaths, cannot leave their hospitals or patients behind."

Kim Bum was one of the lead characters in the recently wrapped legal drama, Law School. He was highly appreciated for the performance. Before that, he starred in the fantasy drama Tale Of Nine-Tailed. His breakout role was his role as So Yi Jung in the hit drama series Boys Over Flowers. The was one of the first Korean dramas to receive international fame.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
