Tamannaah Bhatia to provide 50 tonnes of food products to 10,000 migrant workers April 21, 2020 at 04:50PM

Actor Tamannaah Bhatia joins a league of celebrities who are providing aid to daily wage and migrant workers amid Coronavirus pandemic that has led to the nationwide lockdown. Tamannaah has joined hands with an NGO Letsallhelp to provide 50 tonnes of food products to help 10,000 migrant workers across all the slums, shelters and old age homes in Mumbai.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote, "We, at Letsallhelp.org have taken a pledge…. No one sleeps hungry during the lockdown and have embarked on the journey to help the daily wage workers so they don’t have to migrate to their villages or starve in the cities. The food products will be delivered to the beneficiaries through our trusted partner NGO’s across various cities in our country."

Tamannaah Bhatia said the Coronavirus outbreak has impacted millions of lives in unimaginable ways. She said that lockdown and social distancing is the only way to combat at the moment before a medical solution is discovered. But, the ramifications of it will be long-term. She said that while everyone is worried about their livelihood, one should also spare time for all those daily wage and migrant workers who have lost their livelihood amid this global crisis.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
