John Abraham reveals why he chose not to announce his donation amid Coronavirus pandemic April 21, 2020 at 09:10AM

Actor John Abraham is one of the few stars from the industry who only seems to be in the limelight when his films are about to release. He always chooses to keep his private life away from the spotlight. As the world is suffering from the Coronavirus pandemic, he says things will take time to get better.

John Abraham reveals why he chose not to announce his donation amid Coronavirus pandemic

Speaking about the lockdown and going back to normal life, he said recently to a daily that nothing will be normal till the end of the year. He said that it will be a new normal. The actor has been self-isolating and enjoys home food and finds comfort staying indoors.

Known to be a private person, John Abraham is probably one of the very few actors who has chosen not to discuss his donation for COVID-19 relief on social media. The actor believes whoever has done it, are doing fantastic jobs. He said that people like him won't make it public even through the subversive way.

He further elaborated that someone from the industry told him that this was his time to buy goodwill and that was a scary part. He said that everyone is facing a real-life situation and that it isn't something to do with buying goodwill. He said that it is nothing wrong with people who have chosen to reveal the amount that they are donating but he has chosen not to. The actor said that hats off to industry for coming together at a time like this as a unit.

On the work front, John Abraham has two releases this year - Attack and Satyameva Jayate 2.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
