Kanika Kapoor is set to offer blood for the plasma treatment to other COVID-19 patients, awaits the test results April 28, 2020 at 09:20AM

Kanika Kapoor became quite the news after she tested positive for Coronavirus on March 20. The singer had returned from her trip to London and had attended multiple parties with honorary parliament members present there. However, Kanika Kapoor tested negative for Coronavirus after testing positive for the first five times. She recently took to her Instagram to break silence and gave a statement regarding her diagnosis.

In the statement, she revealed that every person she was in contact with, be it in the UK or India, has tested negative for COVID-19. She further said that she is spending some quality time with her parents in Lucknow. According to a recent discovery, the plasma of cured COVID-19 patients can be used to cure other patients. Kanika Kapoor has offered her plasma for the same and is awaiting the test results from the King George's Medical University.

In further development, she has been served notice by the police to head to the police station to give a written statement since she was charged with multiple IPC sections including Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and Section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life).

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik.
