Actor Sonu Sood, just like everyone else, is doing his bit amid this Coronavirus pandemic. The nationwide lockdown has left the daily wage workers jobless. As per latest reports, Sonu will provide meals to 25,000 migrant workers during Ramzan. This is in addition to the 45,000 workers he has already been helping.

The reports stated that someone reached out to Sonu Sood to discuss the condition of the migrant workers who hail from Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal and are currently stranded in Bhiwandi. The actor has reportedly set up a few kitchens to help make meals and deliver it to the workers who will fast during Ramzan.

The actor said that it is important to help those in need during this time. Through their initiative, they will provide special meal kits to those keeping roza. The target is to provide 1.5 lakh meals.

Sonu Sood has already offered his hotel in Mumbai to medical professionals who are working towards the fight against Covid-19.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
