During the lockdown, while we have seen many celebrities do their bit to help those in need, actress Katrina Kaif also has supported a great initiative. Through her cosmetic brand Kay Beauty, Katrina has teamed up with the De’Haat Foundation to support the #Kare initiative for all those who have suffered during this pandemic.

While both Katrina and the De’Haat foundation have partnered earlier too, this time it is to help the daily wage earners. Katrina and the De’Haat foundation have joined hands to provide food and basic sanitary needs to the families of daily wage earners in the Bhandara district of Maharashtra. In these critical times, the Tiger Zinda Hai actress has been going all out in helping the needy, earlier, she also pledged to contribute to the PM Cares Fund.

While Katrina has been doling out some amazing fitness goals amidst practicing self-quarantine, she has also supported the cause of raising voice against domestic violence during the lockdown.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
