Jackson Wang makes history with '100 Ways', becomes first Chinese solo artist to chart on US Top 40    May 29, 2020 at 03:46PM

Jackson Wang, of the popular K-pop group GOT7, leads a prominent solo career in China. As a musician, he has released multiple singles and his solo album 'Mirrors'. In March 2020, he unveiled the highly awaited single  '100 Ways' along with a music video. Now, he is making history with the track.

Two months after the song's release, Jackson Wang has become the first Chinese solo artist to debut on Mediabase's Top 40 Radio Chart in the US. It had 997 plays over the week and with a reported reach of 1.19 million people. "Blessed and thankful for my supporters. LET’S MAKE HISTORY. Hoping this unfortunate time will pass ASAP. Love you and stay safe," he wrote on Twitter on Friday.

Speaking to Forbes magazine, Jackson said, “I'm so blessed and grateful for the Team Wang members, all my people, & all my supporters. This means the world to me. It's another piece of history we made together. Everyone please, please care and stay safe. I hope I can continue to make you all really proud. This is just the beginning, let's continue making history together."

Jackson Wang, throughout the years, released many solo tracks apart from his work with GOT7. The 25-year-old musician released his eight-track album 'Mirrors' last year. He made chart history by becoming the first Chinese artist to debut at No. 32 on Billboard 2020 charts.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
