BTS' Suga makes historic records with AGUST D-2 on UK, Ireland and Australia music charts May 30, 2020 at 01:35PM

South Korean group BTS' rapper-songwriter-producer Suga is making an impact with his recent mixtape release, 'D-2'. Made under his pseudonym AGUST D, the fiery second mixtape released on May 22 with the title track 'Daechwita' as he sampled marching music. The ten-track free mixtape features unique traditional Korean samples along with features including BTS' leader RM, musician Niihwa, American singer MAX and Kim Jong-wan of NELL.

The mixtape has landed at Number 7 on the UK Albums Chart. The entry makes him the first-ever solo Korean artist to land a UK Top 10 album. He also becomes the second Korean artist next to BTS to land a spot on the UK Chart. His single 'Daechwita' is ranked at Number 68 on the UK Singles Chart.

Coming to Irish Charts, the mixtape has been ranked at Number 10. This makes him the first Korean solo artist to enter the Top 10 in Ireland.

The biggest news comes in from Australia on May 30. The rapper has debuted at Number 2 on RIAA Charts with 'D-2'. This becomes a highest entry for a Korean soloist.

Suga's first mixtape 'Agust D' released in 2016 that revolved around his hardships, confessions of his personal struggles, mental health, and more importantly, self-reflection.

Meanwhile, on the work front, BTS members are currently working on their next album after the release of 'Map Of The Soul: 7' in February 2020.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
