Venkatesh to make a comeback in Bollywood after 25 years with Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala December 08, 2021 at 03:32PM

South Superstar Daggubati Venkatesh is all set to make a comeback in Bollywood after a span of 25 years. The actor made his Bollywood debut back in 1993 with the film Anari and later also appeared in the 1995 Bollywood film Taqdeerwala. Now, the veteran ace actor will mark his comeback in Bollywood with a Sajid Nadiadwala untitled action-comedy which will be helmed by Farhad Samji.

According to a report by a web portal, the film is all gearing up to go on floors early next year and is currently in the casting stage. A source close to the development has informed the portal that Venkatesh will be playing the parallel lead in the film Salman Khan. Adding further the source also revealed that the scenes featuring Venky and Salman will be among the major highlights

The film will also feature Pooja Hegde as the female counterpart alongside Salman. Apart from that, Sajid and Salman are also planning to cast a big name from the Southern industry to come on board as Venkatesh’s romantic interest. Recently, at an event in Hyderabad Salman Khan had also confirmed his collaboration with Venkatesh on a feature film. Well, it'll be really exciting to watch two giants sharing the screen space together.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
