Shershaah beats Salman Khan's Radhe and Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom; is the second most searched movie on Google for the year 2021 December 09, 2021 at 05:15PM

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer Shershaah received an immense amount of love and appreciation from the audiences as well as critics. The film, produced under the banner of Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment, revolved around the life story of Param Vir Chakra-awardee Captain Vikram Batra, from his first posting in the army to the time when he lost his life fighting for the nation during the Kargil War. The film also turned out to be a major turning point in Sidharth Malhotra’s career.

The film got Amazon Prime Video release owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier this year on 31st August 2021, Amazon stated that Shershaah had become the most-watched Indian film on the platform.

Now, the film has set another record to its name as it has beaten Salman Khan's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom. According to the year-end report from Google, Shershaah is the second most searched movie on Google for the year 2021 in India.

Following Shershaah is Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai has bagged the third position while Bell Bottom has managed to make his position at the fourth spot.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
