Aryan Khan beats Elon Musk; becomes the second most searched personality on Google in 2021 December 09, 2021 at 05:01PM

Google India has declared its ‘Year in Search’ findings as it explained the top search trends of 2021 in the country. Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan who was in the news for over a month due to his arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has become the second most searched person on Google India in 2021.

Aryan Khan hit the headlines starting October when he was taken into custody by the NCB after a raid on a cruise ship by the Mumbai coast. The young Khan also spent a few weeks at Arthur Road jail before he was let go on bail by the end of October. Aryan continued to be in the news as he is required to mark his presence at the NCB office in Mumbai every Friday as mentioned in his bail conditions.

Aryan Khan is second to Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra when it comes to most searched celebrities on Google India. The 23-year-old athlete had clinched a gold medal in the javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics, ending India's 100-year wait for an Olympics medal in athletics.

Other celebrities featured in top Google searches in India are Bigg Boss 13 fame Shehnaaz Gill, who made headlines this year after the death of close friend Sidharth Shukla. Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra also made to list of most searched following his arrest by the Mumbai Police in a pornography-related case. Vicky Kaushal who has been in the news for the success of Sardar Udham and his wedding to Katrina Kaif also made the list of most searched. The list also reflected Tesla founder Elon Musk's popularity in the country.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
