Fawad Khan to reunite with Zindagi Gulzar Hai co-star Sanam Saeed after 8 years for ZEE5 series, see first look  December 15, 2021 at 09:47AM

Five years since he was last seen on the big screen in India, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is returning but a digital series. Reuniting with Sanam Saeed, the actors will be seen together eight years after their hit series Zindagi Gulzar Hai. The yet-to-be-titled show, to be streamed on ZEE5, will be directed by Asim Abbasi, known for Cake and recent critically-acclaimed Churails.

On December 15, Zee Zindagi shared the first look of the series starring the lead stars Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed. "We are excited to announce that #FawadKhan and #SanamSaeed will star in Asim Abbasi's upcoming Zindagi Original."

The yet-to-be-titled series chronicles magical realism and supernatural fantasy within a family reunion setting. It deals with the themes of love, loss, and reconciliation. The actor plays the role of a single parent who is charming but struggling with the guilt of loss. With his son, he tries to be a father, his own father was and wasn't. Sanam plays the female lead who takes it upon herself to heal everyone. She is also harbouring otherworldly secrets.

Meanwhile, Fawad Khan was last seen in the Bollywood film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He completed the Pakistani movie The Legend of Maula Jatt with Humsafar co-star Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malik. It is said to be one of the most expensive films made in the country. Due to the pandemic, the release has been delayed. Sanam Saeed last worked in 2019 series Deedan.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
