REVEALED: Here’s why Aamir Khan is credited under ‘Special Thanks’ in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui December 09, 2021 at 04:00PM

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is all set to release tomorrow, that is, December 10 and from the trailer, it is evident that it is a very unconventional love story. It also goes into the taboo zone but then, Ayushmann Khurrana is known for doing films dealing with such topics. As the film gears up for a theatrical release, we have learnt that under the ‘Special Thanks’ credit in the beginning of the film, superstar Aamir Khan has found a mention.

A source told Bollywood Hungama the reason behind it, “In a crucial scene in the film, Ayushmann Khurrana’s character Manu goes through an episode of Aamir Khan’s acclaimed TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’. The makers were keen to use the footage from one of the episodes. When the makers contacted Aamir and requested him for approval, the star was more than happy and graciously allowed them to use the said footage in the film. The makers were touched by this act and hence, they decided to credit him under ‘Special Thanks’.”

The source further added, “The footage is from the third season of Satyameva Jayate”

Besides Ayushmann Khurrana, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui also features Vaani Kapoor. It is directed by Abhishek Kapoor.

Tandav controversy: Supreme Court refuses to grant protection from arrest to makers; says freedom of speech is not absolute January 27, 2021 at 04:37PM

On Wednesday while hearing pleas seeking stay on FIRs against actors and producers of the web series Tandav , the Supreme Court said that freedom of speech is not absolute. A bench headed by Ashok Bhushan said that the petitioners should go to the high courts to seek quashing of these cases. The court also refused to grant protection from arrest to the makers of Tandav against whom FIRs have been filed. The case was heard by a bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, RS Reddy and MR Shah. Senior advocates Fali S Nariman, Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra cited the recent judgement of the top court in Arnab Goswami's case during the hearing. "Is this way liberty should be protected in the country and FIRs are being filed across the country," Luthra said adding that the director of the web series, Ali Abbas Zafar, is being harassed. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process.
