India's Harnaaz Sandhu crowned Miss Universe 2021; Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta send heartiest congratulations  December 13, 2021 at 10:04AM

Miss Universe 2021 took place in Israel and India's Harnaaz Sandhu came out as the winner. The stunning pageant participant became the third Miss Universe winner after Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta. South Africa’s Lalela Mswane was announced as the second runner-up and Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira was the first runner u at the 70th edition of the prestigious annual event.

Hailing from Punjabi, the 21-year-old Harnaaz Sandhu was representing India at the 70th Miss Universe event. Sushmita Sen had won the title back in 1994 whereas Lara Dutta won in 2000. It had been 21 years since the last win.

As a part of the top three-round, when asked, “What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?" Harnaaz responded, “The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing, is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things that are happening worldwide. Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own. I believed in myself and that is why I am standing here today."

Priyanka Chopra took to social media to congratulate Harnaaz Sandhu and wrote, "And the new Miss Universe is… Miss India. Congratulations @HarnaazSandhu03… bringing the crown home after 21 years!"

Lara Dutta, who won the title in 2000, congratulated the new winner and said, "Congratulations @HarnaazSandhu03!!!! Welcome to the club!!! We’ve waited 21 long years for this!!! You make us SO SO proud!!! A billion dreams come true!!! @MissDivaOrg @MissUniverse."

As per reports, Harnaaz Sandhu has forayed into the Punjabi industry and a couple of films are lined up as well.

Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process. Sushant Singh Rajput case: Four key witnesses lay out details of what happened hours before the actor’s demise August 29, 2020 at 12:33PM

The CBI is currently investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency has been trying to piece together the events that transpired hours before the actor's unfortunate demise. Four key witnesses have described how the actor spent the last few hours. All the four witnesses lived with the actor in his Bandra apartment. The witnesses are: Siddharth Pithani (flat mate), Neeraj (house help), Keshav (cook) and housekeeper Deepesh Sawant. All four told the CBI that on the night of June 13, Sushant spent his time alone in his room. Deepesh Sawant was the first person to wake up on June 14. He told the investigating officers that on the night of 13th, Sushant refused to have dinner and asked for a mango shake. The next day Sawant woke up at 5.30 am and an hour later after his morning rituals he went up to the actor's room as usual.
