After Shikara, Vidhu Vinod Chopra begins work on his next directorial, Baarish February 23, 2021 at 04:42PM

Exactly a year ago, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s directorial venture Shikara (2020) was released in cinemas. Starring newcomers Aadil Khan and Sadia, the film told the heartbreaking story of the exodus of Kashmiri refugees. It also had a romantic backdrop as it focused on a couple that stays together through thick and thin. And now Vidhu has started working on his next, which is completely opposite to Shikara in terms of genre and storytelling.

At the virtual session of the Jaipur Literature Festival 2021, Vidhu Vinod Chopra while having a conversation with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) member Vani Tripathi Tikoo revealed that his next directorial venture is titled Baarish. Vidhu further revealed that it’s a crazy thriller about a couple in the middle of nowhere who want to kill each other. He promised that when audiences will watch Baarish, they won’t be able to believe that the person who made Shikara has directed this flick. He also added that he likes to try different genres for all his productions because “life becomes very boring for me if I start following a certain path.”

A trade source says, “Baarish will be the 10th directorial film of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It is a psychological thriller and from the plot, it sounds very exciting. And he has proved that he can handle thrillers well with films like Khamosh (1986), Parinda (1989), Mission Kashmir (2000) and Eklavya (2007).”

The trade source, however, reveals, “The film is still at the scripting stage. Vidhu Vinod Chopra will go ahead with the film only after the script is locked. Even the casting hasn’t been decided yet. So it’ll take a while for the film to go on floors and to ultimately release.”

Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process. Sushant Singh Rajput case: Four key witnesses lay out details of what happened hours before the actor’s demise August 29, 2020 at 12:33PM

The CBI is currently investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency has been trying to piece together the events that transpired hours before the actor's unfortunate demise. Four key witnesses have described how the actor spent the last few hours. All the four witnesses lived with the actor in his Bandra apartment. The witnesses are: Siddharth Pithani (flat mate), Neeraj (house help), Keshav (cook) and housekeeper Deepesh Sawant. All four told the CBI that on the night of June 13, Sushant spent his time alone in his room. Deepesh Sawant was the first person to wake up on June 14.
