Sony Music India partners with Epic Games to feature rapper Raftaar in new ‘Bhangra Boogie Cup’ Fortnite campaign December 23, 2020 at 05:20PM

Sony Music India and Epic Games have announced a new partnership, featuring music from renowned Indian rapper and music composer, Raftaar, in Fortnite’s latest campaign the Bhangra Boogie Cup - an in-game competition targeting the mobile gaming community in India, which begins on December 20.

Raftaar's new original music track titled 'Click Pow Get Down', due for release on December 29, will also be available to unlock as an award for Bhangra Boogie Cup winners in the game. Gamers can also purchase the song in the Fortnite in-game item shop from December 30. Bhangra Boogie Cup is the first collaboration between an Indian artist and Fortnite.

"Our partnership with Epic Games offers new opportunities for our artists to reach fans by fusing two great sources of entertainment together,” said Rajat Kakar, Managing Director, Sony Music India. “Raftaar's 'Click Pow Get Down' is a song packed with energy and positivity, and we’re excited to see the response from gamers."

Raftaar signed an exclusive recording agreement with Sony Music India in July earlier this year, alongside a new partnership with his independent label Kalamkaar, which is home to young hip-hop, rap, pop, and EDM talent from the country. A renowned rapper, producer, television personality, and music entrepreneur, Raftaar is credited for creating a benchmark for Indian rap and hip-hop.

"I can't wait to present the track to Indian gamers and partnering with Epic Games is a great way to wind 2020 up,” added Raftaar. “I hope to make an impact with the song that has been created keeping the spirit of Fortnite in mind!"

Bhangra Boogie Cup is the first collaboration between an Indian artist and Fortnite and is the latest in a series of partnerships between Sony Music and Epic Games.

Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process. Sushant Singh Rajput case: Four key witnesses lay out details of what happened hours before the actor’s demise August 29, 2020 at 12:33PM

The CBI is currently investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency has been trying to piece together the events that transpired hours before the actor's unfortunate demise. Four key witnesses have described how the actor spent the last few hours. All the four witnesses lived with the actor in his Bandra apartment. The witnesses are: Siddharth Pithani (flat mate), Neeraj (house help), Keshav (cook) and housekeeper Deepesh Sawant. All four told the CBI that on the night of June 13, Sushant spent his time alone in his room. Deepesh Sawant was the first person to wake up on June 14.
