Child Protection Organization seeks FIR against Bombay Begums team May 28, 2021 at 09:34AM

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought the intervention of Maharashtra’s Home Secretary to register an FIR against the makers of the Netflix series Bombay Begums. The NCPCR claims the series “normalizes minors indulging in casual sex and drug abuse”. The NCPCR’s allegation has put Netflix on ‘dread’ alert.

One actor from the series who spoke on condition of anonymity says, “We have a standing gag order. No one from the cast or crew is allowed to speak about this. But I don’t see how the series normalizes casual sex and drug abuse. The youngest protagonist is at that age when she is curious about various experiences. Her journey is the journey of many teenagers in the cities. To show the dark side of a lifestyle doesn’t mean we are normalizing or legitimizing it.”

With the NCPCR breathing down the Maharashtra government’s neck the series’ makers may have to edit out some scenes featuring the 14-year old actress Aadhya Anand.

Luckily for the team this is not a religious or a political but a moral issue.

Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process. Sushant Singh Rajput case: Four key witnesses lay out details of what happened hours before the actor’s demise August 29, 2020 at 12:33PM

The CBI is currently investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency has been trying to piece together the events that transpired hours before the actor's unfortunate demise. Four key witnesses have described how the actor spent the last few hours. All the four witnesses lived with the actor in his Bandra apartment. The witnesses are: Siddharth Pithani (flat mate), Neeraj (house help), Keshav (cook) and housekeeper Deepesh Sawant. All four told the CBI that on the night of June 13, Sushant spent his time alone in his room. Deepesh Sawant was the first person to wake up on June 14. He told the investigating officers that on the night of 13th, Sushant refused to have dinner and asked for a mango shake.
