Saif Ali Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar's Dilli to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in January 2021 October 26, 2020 at 09:53AM

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar is venturing into the web series world with political drama Dilli, earlier titled Tandav, with Saif Ali Khan headlining the drama. Amid the pandemic, the actor had begun dubbing for the same from his home.

Now, we know when the project will premiere. Since it was already known that the web series is being made for Amazon Prime Video. The political drama will premiere on the streaming giant in January 2021. While the official date is yet to be announced, it is being touted to set a new template for the OTT players.

Saif Ali Khan will be starring as a politician who aspires to become a Prime Minister. “It is a show based on politics and is set on a massive scale. I don’t want to use American examples, but it’s along the lines of House Of Cards, although set within the framework of Indian politics. The plot takes into account various factions like Dalit politics and UP cops and the whole nexus between them,” he earlier said.

Saif further said, “My character is Chanakya-like, in the guise of a youth leader who comes from a privileged background and aspires to become the Prime Minister.”

The political drama will see Purab Kohli, Kritika Kamra, Sunil Grover, Dimple Kapadia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Amyra Dastur in critical roles. It will be a ten-episode series.

Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process. The CBI is currently investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency has been trying to piece together the events that transpired hours before the actor's unfortunate demise. Four key witnesses have described how the actor spent the last few hours. All the four witnesses lived with the actor in his Bandra apartment. The witnesses are: Siddharth Pithani (flat mate), Neeraj (house help), Keshav (cook) and housekeeper Deepesh Sawant.
