Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha to release on Diwali 2022 September 26, 2021 at 06:17PM

It's raining announcements for the Hindi film industry! A day after the state government of Maharashtra announced their decision to reopen theatres on October 22, filmmakers of the Hindi film industry have been announcing the release dates of their films. Akshay Kumar, who possibly has the highest number of films in his kitty has booked the slot for Diwali 2021 and 2022.

After the announcement of Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi releasing for Diwali this year, the superstar today announced that his film Ram Setu will hit the theatres on Diwali 2022. The film directed by Abhishek Sharma also stars Jacqueline Fernandes and Nushrratt Bharuccha. Akshay will be seen essaying the role of an archaeologist in the film and his first look was unveiled earlier this year.

Amazon Prime Video is set to co-produce Ram Setu alongside Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, and Lyca Productions. Directed by Abhishek Sharma and creatively produced by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film is an action-adventure drama that brings forward a story deeply rooted in Indian cultural and historical heritage.

Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen June 30, 2021 at 04:06PM

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process. The CBI is currently investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency has been trying to piece together the events that transpired hours before the actor's unfortunate demise. Four key witnesses have described how the actor spent the last few hours. All the four witnesses lived with the actor in his Bandra apartment.
