Nawazuddin Siddiqui awarded with Excellence in Cinema Award at the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night

It is not surprising that the actor was awarded last night with Excellence in Cinema Award at the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night held in Dubai that saw the presence of more than 100 eminent personalities from the Indian Film Industry.

Siddiqui, after receiving the award said, "For an artist, there is no bigger reward than the audience giving you their love and appreciation for your work and I am glad to see people here in Dubai giving me so much love. To receive an award among a much vibrant audience here in Dubai is heartwarming to say the least."

The actor has also been nominated at Emmy International Awards for Serious Men directed by Sudhir Mishra that released on Netflix last year. He is the only Indian actor nominated in the ‘best performance by an actor’ category for Emmy this year alongside Christian Tappan (The Great Heist), David Tennant (Des) and Roy Nik (Normali).

While the actor shot for four films this year (Heropanti 2, Jogira Sara Ra Ra, Adbhut and Sangeen), his international film No Land’s Man has already started its festival circuit. Siddiqui is all set to start shooting for Kangana Ranaut’s production Tiku Weds Sheru in November.

The beginning of a new year brings a lot of positivity and hope, and also ushers in the awards season. However, 2021 might be an exception in this regard. The Coronavirus pandemic has led to a lot of change in the status quo of all fields and Bollywood is no exception. With the disease still not in control, the battle against the virus will continue in 2021 as well. And this would mean the awards ceremony, televised to a million viewers globally, might not happen at all. A source claims, “The major award shows like Filmfare Awards, Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards etc might not take place in 2021. And most importantly, there have hardly been any releases in 2020. After March 13, there has been no major release in the post-lockdown period. Only Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari released in this season and a couple of ...

As Yash Raj Films clocks 50 years of excellence and supremacy, the scion of the empire Aditya Chopra and his intellectual team has come together to thresh out a string of commemorative projects including a grand bio-pic on the founding father of the banner Yash Chopra. Though not much detail is known of the bio-pic as yet I have reason to believe Aditya Chopra is very seriously looking into the project, as he and all likeminded fans of Yash Chopra believe the filmmaker’s saga of self-motivated success is exemplary. And who better qualified to play Yash Chopra than Shah Rukh Khan? Though the casting is yet to be finalized SRK seems the perfect fit, being the favourite actor of father Yash and son Aditya Chopra. Other commemorative projects to mark 50 years of Yash Raj include new film projects that will launch new talent. Aditya Chopra has always been at the forefront of new-talent endeavours. Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra are among Chopra’s recent discoveries. “We will be seei...
